# Business Rules

Set up rules to automate creation of procedures and services

Business rules are used to link procedures or to set automated reminders, e.g., a vaccination program. All Procedures will need to be added via Settings/[Service](https://epona.productfruits.help/en/article/add-a-new-service) and [Products](https://epona.productfruits.help/en/article/add-a-new-product). Once this is done, the business rules can be set under **Settings > Business Rules**.

There are three types of Business rules

-   Linked procedures
-   Procedure reminders
-   Linking products to procedures 

The business rules are set up under the two tabs at the top of the list

-   [**Service automation**](https://epona.productfruits.help/en/article/business-rules-service-automation) - link procedure to a main procedure or set reminders within a set period
-   [**Service template**](https://epona.productfruits.help/en/article/business-rules-service-template) - link products to a procedure for inventory requirements and invoicing purposes
